About Me

From Midway down to Spanaway up to Seattle and now Bellingham, I am a product of the Puget Sound region. Growing up as an only child, I learned creative ways to occupy my time. My main hobbies as a kid included drawing, martial arts, skateboarding, basketball, custom cars, and entertaining others. I attended Federal Way public schools and later served the district through AmeriCorps, the national volunteer service organization. As a result of my volunteer experience, I developed an interest in questions concerning education and equity. This led me to Western Washington University's American Cultural Studies Program where I studied American history, sociology, and political science. After graduating, I collaborated with friends on a not-for-profit venture called Project 2050, an organization that aspired to inspire meaningful conversation about controversial issues. A few years later I returned to Western Washington University to earn a master's degree in teaching. Currently, I teach for the Bellingham School District.
